The Burt & Kurt StoryBurt and Kurt have been partners for a long time….since 1974. They first teamed up in Jackson, Mississippi. Burt did the morning show on top-rated WJDX. Kurt was doing tv news and working on his law degree when Burt asked Kurt and his many character voices to become a part of the show. The chemistry was instant and the duo gained national attention and unparalleled ratings success almost overnight. The legendary duo has worked at radio stations in Tampa, FL, Houston, TX, and Birmingham, AL. Burt began his radio career after a stint in the U.S. Navy Band from his home state of Virginia. For many years Burt gained considerable notoriety as a radio program director including radio stations in Charlotte, N.C., Birmingham, AL, Jackson, MS, and Tampa, FL. In the 80’s Burt enrolled in Samford University and for fifteen years served as the senior pastor of churches in the Birmingham area. Burt continues to speak to churches and civic groups and finds time to dabble in his first love, playing the trombone. Kurt is one of the most sought after after-dinner speakers in America. He has won numerous awards and accolades for his unique ability to motivate and entertain. Kurt is a truly rare talent, known for his amazing character impressions and unique ability to make people laugh. Kurt Kilpatrick has a law degree, has served as a city councilman, and has actively worked to enrich the lives of young people as a little league baseball coach, youth hockey coach, and Boy Scout leader. Unlike so many other
shows they have refused to give into the “edgy/controversial” programming
that is so prevalent today. Burt and Kurt have built a career on “good,
